• I am not sure what this plugin actually achieves in relation to Google searches. I’d appreciate an explanation. It seems it has no effect at all.

I thought that with the video sitemap generated by this plugin Google would be able to identify that a post contains a video. And that as a result of that it would a) display as a video item on the Google search results page (SERP), showing e.g. a video thumbnail, which is *very* powerful to drive traffic, and b) that the posts in the sitemap would also show up in Google video search results.

Neither seems to be the case.

I have a successfully generated video sitemap here:
    https://www.bkwine.com/sitemap-video.xml

Google Webmaster tools says that it has indexed 62 (of 80) videos.

However, as far as I can tell, none of my video posts show up as “video posts” in Google search results.

Try searching on Google for example on “Chateau l’Arnaude, en svensk ving?rd i Provence” and you will find one of my video posts in the top spot (or close) in the Google SERP. But it is NOT recognised as a video post. And it is not found if one does a video search.

The sitemap was originally created on November 2 so it is not brand new.

Am I misunderstanding how this works and what it does?

    Would appreciate a clarification. Thanks!
