• My wordpress.com dashboard tells me that my (self-hosted) WP instance has an update available:

The dashboard on my WP instance shows this:

Is it telling me that I need to re-install 5.8-en_GB?

The messaging is confusing – it’s telling me everything is up-to-date, and is not indicating any problem, but gives me the option to re-install something without telling me why it’s necessary.

    What should I do?

  • What happens if you click the link reported in the alert, in the first screenshot? What page does it load?

It takes me to the update page in my WP dashboard (the second screenshot).

Ok so it’s showing you that you have a new version of both the “translation and various other localisation fixes”, so i think you should simply re-install it, as it suggests.
