• In Google search console I get a message “Not found (404). These pages aren’t indexed or served on Google.”

Then it shows a list. The list looks like this:
sitename followed by “/?route=product/search&tag=” and some word at the end.

Where do this “/?route=product/search&tag=” come from?

You can ignore these messages. Your site is open to attributes and tags and what not. These message is just saying it can’t be crawled due to a 404. It doesn’t need to be crawled because you don’t want that type of url showing up in a SERP

Hi @serafinnyc. Thanks for your answer. That makes logic.

I hope you don’t mind if I follow up with two other questions?

GSC: “Page with redirect. These pages aren’t indexed or served on Google.”
It shows a list with url:s.
    E.g /hangmatta-bahia/ is redirected to /produkt/hangmatta-bahia/
The correct url, which is indexed is /produkt/hangmatta-bahia/
Is it right that there is no fix and I shouldn’t do anything?

GSC: “Alternate page with proper canonical tag. These pages aren’t indexed or served on Google.”
    The list includes url:s like:
    /hangstol-ipanema?sort=p.model&order=DESC
    /tillbehor/fotstod?sort=p.model&order=ASC&limit=50
Should this be fixed or should I just leave it?

Sometimes the GSC messages are annoying telling you to fix and validate.

    Pages With Redirects

Pages with redirects aren’t always great, but often times they are necessary. Too many redirects can hurt you. A few not so bad. Your redirect seems like someone created a static page, but then added a redirect to that page to send users to a product page instead. Did you delete that page or something?

Alternate Page With Proper Canonical Tag

These are also urls that you don’t want showing in a SERP so they are ignored. So just leave them be.

Thanks @serafinnyc. Great I’ll ignore Alternate Pages With Proper Canonical Tag.

Regarding pages with redirects. I’m not sure I understand what you meant by static pages. On my host I only use 3 redirects for old products that doesn’t exist any more. www are also redirected.

In GSC I have 400 pages with redirect that aren’t indexed on Google.
    The redirected pages are:
    1. A large part are www-url:s that are redirected.
    2. Another large part are url:s ending with ?limit=75.
    3. The third part which confuse me are url:s like
    /hangmatta-bahia/ is redirected to /produkt/hangmatta-bahia/
    /hangmatta-tillverkning/ is redirected to /hangmatta-bra-att-veta/hangmatta-tillverkning/

I suppose the correct url for a product is /product/productname. In my case /produkt/hangmatta-bahia/
I don’t know how /hangmatta-bahia/ is redirected to /produkt/hangmatta-bahia/. Maybe it’s done automatically by WordPress?

The product-urls that are redirected are urls missing product/
    E.g /hangmatta-bahia/ is redirected to /produkt/hangmatta-bahia/
    /hangstol-ipanema/ is redirected to /produkt/hangstol-ipanema/
The urls with information pages that are redirected are urls missing the information-category.
    E.g /hangmatta-tillverkning/ is redirected to /hangmatta-bra-att-veta/hangmatta-tillverkning/
    /hangmatta-valja/ is redirected to /hangmatta-bra-att-veta/hangmatta-valja//hangmatta-bra-att-veta/hangmatta-valja/

I have not created a page that doesn’t exist anymore, with a redirect to a product page.

It would be great if @serafinnyc or somebody else can answer the questions above.

    Cheers!

Sorry @boppar we’re all volunteers here and we all get super busy from time to time.

Do you have some sort of Redirect app added to your store? You may have had a post that was called

/hangstol-ipanema/ and then you created a product category called /hangstol-ipanema/ and now it’s being redirected to /hangmatta-bra-att-veta/hangmatta-tillverkning/

Make sure you don’t have Posts Categories that share the same name as Product Categories. Those slugs will cause issues.

    Hi @serafinnyc

    I use no redirect app

I have no posts, but I do have information pages. These pages are divided to three “categories”
    /hangmatta-bra-att-veta/
    /hangstol-bra-att-veta/
    /praktisk-information/

There are no posts or pages categories with the same name as product categories.

Many of the redirects in GSC are urls missing “/product/”
    E.g /hangmatta-bahia/ is redirected to /produkt/hangmatta-bahia/

Question: In WordPress is this redirect below supposed to happen?
    https://www.mysite.com/productname1
    redirected to
    https://www.mysite.com/product/productname1

Btw in settings my permalinks look like:
    https://ibb.co/gyXQDKY

I’ve looked at all the pages with redirect that aren’t indexed on Google. Some of these redirects have referring pages that doesn’t have links to these url:s. I think it’s strange that GSC says falsely that they are referring pages. Why is it like that?
