• Hi all!
Does anyone know how I can fix this error? It has popped up out of the blue without me doing anything that I can think of to cause it.

Warning: Missing argument 2 for _close_comments_for_old_posts() in /home4/sparkly3/public_html/wp-includes/comment.php on line 2502

Fatal error: Call to a member function is_singular() on null in /home4/sparkly3/public_html/wp-includes/comment.php on line 2503

  • Did you just upgrade to WordPress 4.4.1?

I didn’t do it manually, but it may have. The last notification I got was 5 days ago and it said I was automatically updated to 4.3.2

You should upgrade to WordPress 4.4.1 first, before anything else. There should be a link in your Dashboard (Dashboard > Updates) which will automatically run the upgrade.

I am getting that same error even when I try to access the dashboard. I had someone mess with my website so I restored it to a previous backup via JustHost’s backup tool and this is the error it produced. Sigh… thanks for the input. I fear it may be really messed up.

You can maually upgrade if you have access to your “cPanel/File Manager” through your host or have a FTP client such as Filezilla.
