What does the "Custom Sidebars" do in the product admin page?

    I noticed this plugin adds a “custom sidebars” column to the woocommerce product admin page. What does this do?? It only allows you to turn it on or off, not specify a particular newly created widget area for the sidebar so I’m really confused as to what it is supposed to do….
