The changelog for 2.0 is pretty much useless. Could you please elaborate on what 2.0 is all about? Some of us actually read changelogs so we understand the scope of what we are about to update to. We want to know if there were any major changes that might break sites, any security fixes, or even if it seems as though maybe the plugin changed hands, which might lead to an insecure plugin.

It is a total rewrite. The readme will be improved in time.

Thanks a lot for the update. I use this useful plugin for years and I waited with anxiety the day it would not work anymore.
I just hope it is not the prelude to a “Pro version”.

Welcome back! I’m glad to see you’re back safe and sound.

There’s still no better plugin than Search Regex.
I’m welcome in the “pro version” as well!

I was happy to install it after it was changed to 2.0,
To be clear, it cannot be used.
It takes too much time to convert and search why the ascending order and the descending order are removed.
Please make sure you can use the old version.

@djyossy can you explain more about what you mean? Why can’t it be used? Too much time to convert what?

In the previous version, detailed settings such as “Convert only the last 100 articles” were made,
This version is only for all search & all conversion.
Impression that usability is worse than before because the search target is searched only from old articles page by page.

@djyossy there is no option related to conversion or articles in the old version.

I run the old version on a database with some 50,000 posts, which causes problems with memory or execution time. In the old version I’ve modified /wp-content/plugins/search-regex/view/search.php to have some more limit options so I can search up to 25,000 asc/desc, which works for my server.

I don’t see the view folder in the 2.0 update so I’m not sure if I can easily limit the results limit anymore.

@loops you don’t need to do that anymore and it will handle any database size.

For anyone with more questions please start a new thread as it makes it easier to answer and easier for others to find answers.

    how can I remove strings?
