I left the base URL option blank, but none of the relative links in the download works when I view them to my computer.

    Hi @cableboy and @yogieanamcara,

    Thanks for using the plugin.

There have been some recent contributions from the open source community to the plugin, specifically around better base URL re-writing, including support for local relative links.

I have not extensively tested these changes yet, but if you would like to try the latest development build of the plugin, you can download from here: https://github.com/leonstafford/wordpress-static-html-plugin/archive/master.zip and manually install the plugin.

With this, try setting your URL to / or file:///path/to/my/file.html

The next big release of the plugin is being crowdsourced now, which should see it released soon. I’ll be increasing the testing and ensuring things like local relative URLs work. Please feel free to help out and spread the word:

    Hello Leon,

I just tried the GITHUB version, however it is not working as expected. Even more, this version seems not to go through the subpages and it is not saving any images etc. it simply saves some index.html files and nothing more.

So for me the version is even worse.

    Sorry.

    Cheers

    Hi @yogieanamcara,

Sorry to hear the development version didn’t work for you, it is by nature, not as stable as the official releases.

In the meantime, what may work as an alternative for you:

Run a local webserver and export your site using it’s URL, ie https://localhost/

The way the exported HTML is currently structured means that you can navigate via https://domain/url/ without the https://domain/url/index.html required for each subdirectory.

There are simple to install webservers for Linux, Mac and Windows. If you need any help in getting one setup, please let me know. Happy to help.

    Cheers,

    Leon

Thanks again Leon, as I simply need a method to make a copy of the entire site (structure) showing the site as id I would surf it and bring this to PDF for documentation I think it is a bit too much. I hoped I could save it as HTML and then my PDF creator could spider the site. However, the WP site itself seems to complicated. Beyond that the PDF creator shows that JS is disabled respectively on the PDF I see this message. So too many things to do to get this work. I think it#ll be faster to make PDF copies manually.

    Hi Yogie,

I’ll close this topic for now. Adding site export to PDF is an option I’d like to add and have some ideas.

    Cheers,
