What comments are sent to subscribers?

    Hi there
    I have just installed the plugin and would like to have the setting to have the box automatically checked. Before I do that, however, I would like to know which comments a subscriber will receive notifications of. Ideally I just want them to receive my responses to their own comment, not every comment made on that post subsequent to their own. Until I know which this will send them, I will leave that option disabled.
    Currently my commenters have no idea that I am responding to them as most have not seen the box…. (up until today I have had the plugin Subscribe to Double Opt-in Comments installed.

    If using the checkbox and not the select box it will be all comments.

    We’ll release an update this week to choose the type of subscription when it’s a checkbox.

    Hmm. I am not sure that I see a select box? I see the check box only.

    The select box is when you want to allow them to select if they want to subscribe to all comments on that post or only replies to their comment.

    So basically since it’s 3 options (do not subscribe, subscribe to replies, subscribe to all comments) it’s a select box instead of a checkbox.

    You can enable that in WP admin > StCR > Comment Form.

    You’ll see the option called “Advanced Subscription”, setting that to “Yes” will make it a select box.

    After you save the change the page reloads and a new option shows up called “Advanced default”, that’s where you select the default value (you want to set that to “Replies to this comment”.

    Hey,
    I just want to check in and see how it′s going with this update: “We’ll release an update this week to choose the type of subscription when it’s a checkbox.”? I′m not able to select the type of subscription in the comment form options when it′s a checkbox (advanced subscription being disabled) even though I last updated the plugin 2 weeks ago. I really need to have the checkbox be for “replies to my comments” only, and not for all comments. Is this already possible or will I need to wait for the next plugin update to be able to achieve that? Thanks

    Sorry, will check the to do lists and see what happened with that.

    The option will be released by the end of the week. Probably by Wednesday since after that is 31st Dec and 1st January which are off days.

    In case it’s not done by Wednesday I will come over to the office during the weekend to take care of it. So, definitely by the end of the week.

    Ok, thanks, that′s nice to hear! It′s not urgent at all, I was just wondering if it might have been a bug on my site.
