    Hi all.

I am having trouble in optimizing the speed of my website. I installed the plugin WP fastest Cache and now it goes faster, but anyway Pagespeed Insights is giving me a low score (my server is slow, I have to admit) and the main recommendation is to optimize my images.
    BUT
When I uploaded the images I previously modified the with photoshop, giving them the resolution which will be shown on the front office. All the images are Jpeg files too, so I don′t know what else can I do to optimize those images…

The webiste is shpanishwineweek.ie. It is in maintenance mode.

Any suggestions? I am not looking for plugins… I tried WP Smush, and Compressorio, but don′t work.
Maybe I can′t do more with the images?

    Thanks in advance

Do you have a carousel on a page? It might be worth removing that. Carousels are a cause of large page loads.

I have meta slider plugin installed and there is a big slider in the header and another one in the body of the homepage.

Yes, first find the pages that are being flagged as having large page loads. Knowing that images are the main cause of concern, you can focus on sections of those pages that contain images. It’s then more of a business decision to choose what to do with that content, as it’s currently not working for page loads.

Yes, that is right. I removed the slider and the Pagespeed score went up. We will have to consider to remove some images.
    Thank you for your help!!

    Whats up!

I made such a BIG mistake when uploading image files…

I made some images of the homepage with photoshop, but after that I used canva.com to add a few characters. Then I downloaded the image from Canva and I directly uploaded to the website, which was a terrible mistake. I didn′t realise that canva made the image so heavy (each one was more than 200Kb size), so now I just resized the image with photoshop and reuploaded them.
Now Pagespeed is giving me a very nice score
