What are the Tablepress plans for Gutenberg?

    Hi Tobias,
    From what I’ve read, WP 4.9.8 is upon us tomorrow Jul-31-2018, and sometime in August, WP 5.0 is released. Will Tablepress be ready? Should we be testing it with Gutenberg beta versions? How will Gutenberg impact basic table functionality (i.e. tables without tablepress)?

    Hi,

    thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

    I don’t foresee any problems when Gutenberg comes around. TablePress will not yet offer a block in Gutenberg to show the table (so you will continue to see the Shortcode there), but that’s something that I have in mind for the future.
