    Hello,

I have been suffering from slow WordPress admin backend. I came across your plugin.

It is working wonders. But I am a non tech WordPress newbie.

Every time the admin reloads, the Suspend WP options Autoload is disabling by itself.

Here are the settings I set (https://ibb.co/6R4kT6R).

I am on shared hosting with 256M memory with litespeed server and also on free Cloudflare Plan.

I dont want unnecessary plugin activity to creep up and eat resources.

Please let me know the recommended configuration so that it doesn’t hamper my website development and customization process and speeds up the admin significantly.

I am also repeatedly getting error 524 and “Your link has expired” error whenever I am trying to install and activate a new plugin, or deactivate and remove a plugin as well as trying to deactivate the Docket Cache plugin.

    Why is this happening?

    Please help.

    Hi there,

Thank you for using Docket Cache.

When you enable “Suspend WP Options Autoload” basically Docket Cache will set WordPress options with “autoload” yes to no. This action to reduce WordPress “alloptions” size, it can be enabled without issue unless you have not enough RAM.

By the way, you can try to disable “Object Cache Precaching” and “Admin Page Cache Preloading”. And you should enable “Auto update” since Docket Cache actively develop and improved time to time.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

You just need to remove drop-in file wp-content/object-cache.php , and Docket Cache will not interfere with your WordPress.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the fast reply.

Does enabling “Admin Page Cache Preloading” create problems while development or customization? Does it create problems of installing and uninstalling of plugins? Does it have any drawbacks?
By not enabling the “Admin Page Cache Preloading”, the backend is slower.

I need the fastest possible admin backend without the ghosting problem during installing and uninstalling of plugins caused by caching.

Can you give me a total list of what to enable and what to disable, in my case?

    Feedback:
    1) Please make some documentation for each option and what it does for non-tech users like me. It would be very helpful.

    2) Also sometimes the options saved revert back when page reloads or I login again. Include Save Settings button if possible.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

No actually. It’s only suggestion, you can uninstall this plugin or completely delete the wp-content/plugins/docket-cache if you can’t uninstall it as you said. Docket Cache does not use the database to store its configuration.

    Thanks.

I am saying that does “Admin Page Cache Preloading” cause problem of installing or uninstalling of other plugins?
I was facing with removing your plugin as it was still there in the
Installed Plugin list, even after i removed everything from wp-content and cache etc.as you mentioned in the github thread to another query.

Also sometimes the options saved revert back when page reloads or I login again. Include Save Settings button if possible.

    Why does this happen?

    Please also consider the suggestions.

    Hi,

    1) It’s not caused the problem. It’s only the suggestion.
    2) After uninstall it and still in your plugin list. Your need to remove the docket-cache folder under wp-content/plugins/docket-cache. WordPress will automatically remove it from list. If it still failed, maybe you need to contact your hosting provider.
    3) I don’t know why it revert back, since all the test seems work perfectly.

Why does this happen? honestly I don’t know. because it only happen to you.

    Yes, I’m considering your suggestion.

    Thanks.

I am not talking about docket cache uninstallation.

I am enquiring about whether other plugin installation and uninstallation, being affected by “Admin Page Cache Preloading”.

Thanks ans sorry for the lengthy queries.

    Hi,

The answer is no. The “Admin Page Cache Preloading” only run when you do flush the cache.

I’m trying to answer your question the best I can.

    Thanks.

So in general, I have to flush the cache everytime when I log in to make “Admin Page Cache Preloading” work? What do I do? [Not related to the uninstalling and installing problem]

Thanks. I am a complete newbie with no tech background. That’s why I am clarifying.

    Hi,

    1) The purpose of “Admin Page Cache Preloading” is to speedup the cache. Without using it, the cache only happen when you browse the admin page. Admin page is everything under /wp-admin/ path. To answer you question, you don’t need to flush the cache if everything work fine.

    2) Docket Cache is an Object Caching plugin. You can read about caching in WordPress here https://docs.docketcache.com/resources/caching-in-wordpress

    Thanks.
