• Thank you for keeping Easy Fancybox alive and relevant. It is my go-to lightbox for seamless integration with the WordPress core blocks and Youtube Videoes.

Testing version 1.9 and the “fancyBox v2” javascript. It’s slightly larger (than legacy).

What are the benefits of the new version?

Still 100/100 in Google Lighthouse btw. Now errors here. Sweet.

  • Hi, in fancyBox 2 the transitions are a bit different, placement of the gallery arrows and indeed the buttons are a bit larger. Depending on your preference, those may be benefits. Or not ??

The idea is to eventually move to this version (maybe after adapting the button sizes and position, it depends on user feedback) but the script has not been fully integrated yet, so some things may not work as expected. It’s currently there for testing so if you find anything, please let me know ??

Although the v2 script itself is larger, it should be a little bit more efficient for browsers and pagespeed…

The will be fancyBox 3 as an option too, in the future. That light box looks totally different though. It looks more like many of the other light boxes out there so may not be what people are looking for in this particular plugin.

Awesome! Thank you for your feedback. I’m switching to v2 on my sites, just to be on the cutting edge ?? So far, no issues found – Google Lighthouse is happy, no errors in the javascript console, HTML still valid.

Thanks for sharing this solid plugin with the community, appreciated ??
