What are columns

  • As you can undoubtly derive from my question I’m a newby to WordPress. It looks very promising though. I’m looking into a theme that I can use for my website but it looks like the menaing of columns in themes are to be kept secret ?? I searched the forum, found tons of results but none to explain what columns are Can anyone enlighten me please?

  • Columns refer to the way in which the site’s content is displayed on the page. You can search for themes by column using the Theme Repository’s tag filter.

    2 Column Theme
    Column 1 (Left Sidebar) | Column 2 (Content)

    3 Column Theme
    Column 1 (Left Sidebar) | Column 2 (Content) | Column 3 (Right Sidebar)
    OR
    Column 1 (Left Sidebar) | Column 2 (Left Sidebar #2) | Column 3 (Content)
