  • Is it a page or post you made? Because it looks like a page named welcome…. you have your front page set up to display posts, so you’d need to make a ‘post’, not page

I’m puzzled the same way you are…

    I made a page called

    HOME.

    There’s no page called Welcome.

Then I made a post, which is vieewable here:

    https://cultureblog.modelpeopleinc.com/welcome/?preview=true&preview_id=12&preview_nonce=704767daf9

I need posts to automatically appear on the HOME page.

An excerpt of each post should appear on the home page, with a Read More link, right?

In Settings, Reading, I enabled: Front page displays Your latest posts

    and

Blog pages show at most 12 posts

My theme generator has a setting for not automatically including a Home page, which I enabled so I could make the Home page myself.

I will set it to include a Home page and see if that fixes this.

I can’t see any of the preview links you post. Since they are previews. I just want to make sure your posts are fully published, correct?

If you make a page called HOME, your posts will not appear there. With your setting of ‘front page displays most recent posts’ your posts should automatically go to the fornt page, no need to make a page named HOME

To make posts go to any page (including home) you would need to make a page template for the page which queries posts

    >I can’t see any of the preview links you post.

    oh yeah. duh.

I reset my theme to include a Home page. I thought WP would recognize it as “the” home page and post beginning excerpts of the post there, but it didn’t.

And, I guess I DID make a “welcome” page. It was to be the first post. I named it “welcome” in the permalink.

    https://cultureblog.modelpeopleinc.com/welcome/

    What’s happening is:

Now I have a Home page that’s generated by the theme; it’s accessible from the word Home (in lower case) in the menu. (It needs to appear on nav bar in upper case, but that’s another problem.) Both before I set the theme to include the home page icon, and now after, the error that displays on the page that loads for main URL https://cultureblog.modelpeopleinc.com

    is

    Not Found
Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.

(Off topic again, but a search window also appears, but there’s a search window in the right panel too, so I’d rather not have a second one if a page isn’t found.)

I still have the hand-made HOME page I made. https://cultureblog.modelpeopleinc.com/home I can delete it of course when I find out what the solution is. I could make the URL point here, but that’d be weird. I need the main URL to go to a system-recognized home page. And I need the system-recognized home page to post excerpts of recent blogs there.

    Thanks! I’m stumped.

Problem was the settings of plugin “Sticky Front Page Categories and Tags.”
