What action to take with pingbacks?

  • Just got my first pingback — another site referencing mine. The message e-mailed by WordPress asks me to “approve” it, but the provided URL leads to what seems only to Approve|Edit|etc like a standard reader comment.

    Is there something different I need to do — some handshake to acknowledge receipt to the other site?
