    Great idea ruined by greed.

I used this before there was a “PRO” version (translated: I used this plugin before the plugin author decided to degrade the free version so you would buy the “Pro” version).

That being said, the old, old free version has more features than the current free version.

Does the plugin work? Uh, yes, but with extreme limitations. The free version has the SAME features as WP’s built-in Media library meaning you can delete images just as easily there.

As far as the Pro version is concerned: It’s what you really need, but test it out on a staging (non-live) site because you stand a good chance of screwing things up.

Finally, one last warning: After you install this plugin, you are greeted with a slew of warning prompts AND an affiliate hosting banner. Pretty tactless not to mention implemented with little to no thought.

P.S. I uninstalled this plugin then spent another 20 minutes cleaning up my database to remove the artifacts left over.

To be honest, I feel quite sad because I think I remember you as an user an so because I feel your review is not fair at all as it is 100% negative even though I am spending a huge part of my life on it, and to make most of my users happy.

No, the free version of the past can’t have more features than now, it is totally impossible. Please install the old version and tell me what it has more than the current one (if it works…).

The plugin was bashed because it was not working perfectly, nobody helped me, and I abandoned it. I even asked for its removal because it was a shame for me. I think this is the plugin you are talking about. Its name was also slightly different.

A very few persons contacted me and asked me if I still had the plugin. I shared it with them, it was full of issues, it took me hundred of hours of work to have actually something that works better. I made a free, a pro, and a totally new plugin was released. It is not the same one and the codebase is totally different (check if you have it).

I spent one year actually using the Pro money to pay users/developers to make it work better with many other plugins and themes, because I couldn’t (it’s a huge amount of work). So calling me greedy, while I tried my best to make this plugin works for most is hurtful.

About the notices/warnings. Yes, there are many. Are they have been written for my sake? Please check. No, there are warnings to make sure things don’t go wrong.

There is only one ad (you can disable in the menu by the way) for WPEngine because they have me free installs to test my plugins in many different contexts.

About the mess in the database, I don’t follow you. If there is a problem, rather than complaining about it, if you really wish to help people, tell me/us what happened and how you fixed it.

This plugin (and I) went through a lot. It was a challenge (and still is). If you think there was a better way to do it, please share. I will welcome it. I am probably no as greedy as you imagine, otherwise I would have sold the plugin to bigger WP companies willing to get their hands on it (for lot of money + a salary) and they would have made it go much worse. I take care of it and it’s community the best I can.

One more thing: the free version is not like the standard Media Library at all. I have no idea why you said that, as it is obviously so wrong. Take a break, and one day look at this again. I am pretty sure you will see it very differently. I am using the free version of my plugin on my own websites, as I don’t even need the Pro features.
