wfconfig table takes up 77% of the size of my web hosting

    Hello Wordfence team ??

    The wfconfig table on one of my client’s site takes up 77% of the storage space on his hosting. What do you advise me to do? How can I solve this problem?

    Hi @devoctopix, thanks for your message.

    Something that springs to mind here is a bug with MySQL 8.0.15 which wasn’t fixed until 8.0.19. Check which version you’re running and possibly upgrade if yours falls into the affected version range.

    You can run an?optimize table?command on that table. If the size decreases to a reasonable amount, it’s most likely this bug.

    Note that?optimize table?can be slow on some servers, but it can cause a site to hang in some rare conditions, so it’s best to try it outside of peak hours.
