WordFence is blocking people with legitimate accounts from legitimate, non-blacklisted IP addresses. This has been happening since at least January 21st. Prior to that, the plugin was doing a good job of only failing those who were attempting to log into accounts that didn’t exist. But now it’s also failing those who do have customer accounts.

Where is the option to whitelist these legitimate accounts? And, should I even have to whitelist them? Why can’t WordFence detect existing accounts anymore?

Can you please give me an idea of what you’re seeing in the Firewall > Blocking area for the users who are being locked out?

Are they attempting to login just once and being locked out? There may be an IP configuration issue.

If you can, please send diagnostics via Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics > Send Report by Email to wftest @ wordfence dot com with your forum username in the designated field there.

Please respond here as well when that is send so I know to look out for them.

    Thanks,
    Scott

Sorry. I don’t have the data anymore. It got so bad at blocking legitimate users that I had to completely delete the plugin. I replaced it with Sucuri.

Thanks for letting me know @rcwatson.

If you would happen to give it another go at any point, feel free to let me know here and I’ll give you a hand.

Have a good rest of your week!
