Welcome Page – Can you have half post half page?

    I have created a site using WordPress using the hiero (not hero) theme and on my welcome page I want to add a bit of text welcoming people to the site with an image and then I want it to display my latest post underneath.

    I can only seem to be able to chnage it from static page to posts and I want both really. I have stuff in my sidebar and footer so can’t really use them. Thanks for help.

    found the resolution.

    Incase anyone else has the same issue, I set the homepage to a static page in Apperance > Customizations.

    Then I installed posts to page plugin and added the shortcode to the welcome page so I could have both
