The automation called “Welcome new Customers” is thriggered when a new customer is created.

The problem is that when the “Subscribe in registration from ” MaiPoet/ Settings/ Basics option is FALSE/ Disabled/ Off,
and a new user is being registered on our site,
The MailPoet doesn’t learn of him/ her until he/ she registers to the newsletter list.

    Check this expected usage scenario:
    1. A user registers on our site and receives the system registration emails (confirmation link and final confirmation of the registration process).
    2. After a while, the user decides to also register on the newsletter lists.
    3. It is then that the MailPoet list is syncing with the site and records the customer on its lists. It is then that the mailPoet recognises the customer as a customer and not the moment of the confirmation mentioned earlier.
    4. MailPoet thinks this is a new customer, even though it might have been hours/ days/ months since he registered -or something else had triggered the MailPoets syncing.
    5. The old customer – new subscriber receives an email welcoming him/ her to the site and announcing the registration, even though this is a procedure already done.

–This is a major UX issue since the user loses trust in the site if he/ she doubts the registration process.
Wasn’t I already registered to the site?
Why these emails are different from the first ones?
Have I done something wrong on this site?
Should I delete my account and leave forever?

So how do we force MailPoet to sync ASAP when a new user is registered on the site as a customer but not a newsletter subscriber?

    Hello there @spypots ,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern regarding the synchronization process between your website registrations and MailPoet’s subscriber management, specifically in the context of the “Welcome new Customers” automation.

To ensure that every new user registered on your site is immediately recognized by MailPoet, regardless of their newsletter subscription status, we recommend the following steps based on the information from our WordPress Users List documentation:

    1. Force Sync WordPress Users: If you observe that the number of subscribers in your MailPoet list doesn’t match the number of existing WordPress user accounts, you can manually force a resynchronization. This can be done by clicking on the ‘Force Sync’ link located beside the WordPress Users list name in your MailPoet dashboard. This action triggers an instant update, ensuring all users are accounted for in MailPoet’s system.
    2. Adjustment in Signup Confirmation: When the “Subscribe in registration form” option is deactivated in MailPoet’s Settings > Basics, new users are added to your MailPoet list as “Unconfirmed” by default, and no confirmation email is sent. To update these users’ status without requiring another opt-in action from them, you could manually resend the confirmation email to individuals, which would move them to a “Subscribed” status when they confirm their subscription. However, this should only be done under the assurance that these users have explicitly agreed to receive communications from you to comply with email marketing regulations.

    Addressing User Experience Concerns:

To mitigate user confusion and ensure trust in your site’s registration and subscription process:

    • Customize Communication: Clearly differentiate between site registration confirmation emails and newsletter welcome messages. Consider customizing the newsletter welcome email to acknowledge the user’s existing relationship with your site if there’s already been an interaction or registration in the past.
    • Transparent Communication: Address the potential gap in receiving the welcome email directly in the message content. A brief explanation that the email is part of subscribing to the newsletter, separate from the initial registration process, can help clarify any confusion for the user.

    I hope this helps.

Actually, it didn’t help a thing.
Doing manually what I want to be done automatically is not the solution on how this can be done automatically, since you propose quite the opposite.
Moreover, the UX tips are not UX tips but CX tips, and they are not solving the UX problems of the system, they justify it on a second communicative step, which should be unnecessary if the UX is good.

Since these things cannot be done by the WordPress-WoCommerse-MailPoet system, and I do not wish to include another email plugin, the only thing I can think of is modifying the WordPress core emails that are exchanged with our clients to be at the same HTML template as the ones created in MailPoet.

Please, consider resolving this problem in future updates, as well as just adding a system for an optional newsletter or any custom email list with an enrollment checkbox that prepends the WordPress login/ registration form.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hello again @spypots ,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Since these things cannot be done by the WordPress-WoCommerse-MailPoet system, and I do not wish to include another email plugin, the only thing I can think of is modifying the WordPress core emails that are exchanged with our clients to be at the same HTML template as the ones created in MailPoet.

This might not work as you expect because the MailPoet Confirmation email contains an activation shortcode that might not get rendered if you edit the WordPress core emails and include that shortcode.

You’re welcome to add it as a suggestion here?https://feedback.mailpoet.com

Our team will take it into account when discussing new features and improvements for the plugin ??

    Thank you!

Well, actually I didn’t in the end because it is taken over the theme and thetheme had similar compability issues so I roll back and did nothing.
I just left the customers to do 2 different sign ups (site & newsletter) and I will wait for your future updates.

Thank you very much for this information.

    Hi there @spypots,

Thanks for the update on the current status of your sign ups.

It sounds like having two separate emails and two separate sign-up processes is what will work best in this case. Note that since MailPoet subscriber consent is required to be collected separately, the separate registration flow is required.

This is not exactly what you want, but I wanted to note here for other customers doing a similar flow that there is an automation trigger that is for “WordPress user registers” like this:

    https://d.pr/i/lW6Mue
    Full Size: https://d.pr/i/lW6Mue

While this does not add new WordPress users automatically to a given newsletter, it would allow you to send out your own welcome email to brand new customers that is not related to their newsletter subscription. So for example, you could send out an email that *invites* them to sign up for the newsletter with a link to the sign up form, and also gives a coupon or other thank-you for creating an account.
