Welcome message on index page only?

you need to use the conditional tag is_home which is explained here:

if (is_home())
{
do something here.
}

Thank you. I’ve just tried

if (is_home())
{
include (‘welcome.php’)
}

And get the following message

“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ “

I’m surrounding the if statement with php tags. What am I doing wrong? I don’t know all that much about php as yet…

Try a semicolon at the end of the line:


if (is_home())
{
include ('welcome.php');
}
