Welcome email not sent with plugin v4.8 and WP v4.6.1

  • Hi Sean –

    When I install the SB Welcome Email Editor plugin v4.8 in my WP v4.6.1 the Welcome emails are no longer sent to the members. The Welcome Admin emails still work. Without the SB Welcome Email Editor plugin both emails are sent properly.

    I changed my theme from Storefront to 2014 and disabled all my other plugins except yours and Import Users from CSV and the Welcome emails are still not sent. I would like a friendly email to be sent to my users when I do a bulk import.

    I tried with and without the Postman SMTP plugin. This plugin logs and lets me view all the email activity. With it I can see the Admin emails are being sent but the user Welcome emails are not being sent. But even without this plugin the user Welcome emails are not being sent.

    I tried your plugin as both text and html, and I tried the Global Headers setting as both yes and no. Nothing works.

    Can you help?

    Somewhere in the middle. I’ve been very busy of late and would love to rewrite the plugin but it seems that for some this works and for others it doesn’t. I will definitely update it again but probably not this side of Christmas.

    I am having exactly the same problem as the OP, same versions, same issue of emails not being sent to the new user. Admin email and test email work fine.

    Any ideas before we have to go back to the rather naff default emails?

    I found that the Better Notifications for WordPress plugin works well.
