• When on my Shop page, if you look in the descriptions, you will see that some of them are shorter than others and don’t seem to be following the word count I have set (150 if I recall). How can I correct this?

A little side note, I also notice that when I go into Ultimate Product Catalog Settings>Products to see all of my products, 3 of the products descriptions just show “…” and not the shortened version of the real description, like the other products show. How can I correct this?

    Thank you

  • Hi therealcrazy8

There’s a chance that the quotes in the “Keeper”/Protector/Defender product may be causing a conflict (e.g. The “Protector” is rated …)

If you remove them from that product’s description, does the full excerpt show up?

In the backend settings where you don’t see the description at all, is it effecting those three products we mentioned above?

If you need the quotes in there, you can try using the HTML code & #034; (you’ll need to remove the space after the &)

I removed the “” from all three (keeper, protector, and defender) and still no change.

In the back end, the UPC description for the same 3 products just shows “…”

    Thank you

    Hi therealcrazy8,

We went through your catalogue page and found that the quotes are still there. Could you check again and make sure they have been removed? If you have any caching plugin installed, please make sure to clear the cache or disable it temporarily before you try again.

Sorry for getting back to this after so long. I did see two more sets of quotes and have now removed them. I have 2 caching programs and ran those, I also logged out and back in after that, and still the “…” for 4 of the products. Any other ideas that may correct that?

    Hi threalcrazy8,

In that case, we would suggest you to try disabling the caching plugin and also all other plugins except the product catalog to test for any potential conflict. Also, could you switch to a default WordPress theme such as Twenty Sixteen or Twenty Seventeen? Now check if the description is displayed correctly. To find the conflicting plugin you could then enable all the plugins one by one until you hit the issue. Please clear the cache from the caching plugins and disable them before trying any of the suggestions above so that you do not see the cached page instead of the updated page.

Also, could you remove all the formatting from the description text and see if it now shows correctly?
