• I’m trying for the first time to post an mp3 to a Page on my blog.

Here’s the code (ignore the quotes):

    <! <embed src=”https://www.plumbbobblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/20090208_PhilWeingart.mp3&#8243; width=”300″ height=”52″ wmode=”transparent” autostart=”false” loop=”false” </embed> />

The mp3 file is huge — about 47 meg.

Ironically, it worked just fine the FIRST TIME I previewed the page, but not anytime after that.

What happens is the page never finishes loading. The status line at the bottom reads “Transferring data from https://www.google-analytics.com…&#8221; I let it sit for an hour, and it never cleared.

I tried changing the src= term to a relative path instead of a URL. The only thing that changed was the target of the “transferring data” message; it said it was transferring data from Twitter in one try, and from Paypal in another (both are accessed by elements on the sidebar.)

Can somebody tell me what’s going on, and how I can proceed?

    Thanks.

Upgraded to WordPress 2.7.1. No change in behavior. Anybody? Help!

It’s possible your host is refusing the bandwidth needed to load a 47 meg file every time you or anyone else brings up your blog. As one who visits a number of similarly themed blogs to mine daily, I can tell you that I would dump your site immediately rather than waiting for that file to load.

It started playing for me in about 6 seconds from IE7
