• So I have a custom taxonomy associated with a custom type. However, when selecting terms with children, on the edit post screen I get strange ordering of the checkboxes.

For example, I have something like this

    Parent A
    – Child 1
    – Child 2
    – Child 3
    Parent B
    – Child 4
    – Child 5

With nothing selected, it displays in the order above. If ‘Parent A’ and ‘Child 1’ are selected and I click ‘Update’, it displays like this:

    Parent A
    – Child 1
    Parent B
    – Child 4
    – Child 5
    Child 2
    Child 3

Any ideas on what could be happening here? Thanks!

  • Hi cr33dog, can you please try with our 1.9-beta version (https://wp-types.com/2016/01/types-1-9-beta1/) and let us know if it keeps happening?

Unfortunately Types 1.9 Beta-1 Does not solve this issue, I was able to reproduce this and have informed the Developers of Types

Please stand by here for future informations.

    I apologize the inconvenience.

This also happens with the native Category taxonomy and it is indeed a problem in the WordPress core GUI itself, not something we do ourselves. We can not do anything to change this
