Since a few days I’ve noticed that (after painstakingly adding over 1200 stores manually) strange characters appear in my store locator. As a consequence, the shop titles and descriptions do no longer align properly, nor does the navigation option work.

I have a development area where my wp store locator is still in good shape, so i’ve exported the XML file for import in our “Live” website, but the weird characters seem to appear again.

I see you have finally added a csv importer as a paid add-on. When I was setting up wp store locator, this option was not available. Therefore a have manually entered all of the shops and shopinformation. It took forever! Now my data seems corrupted. I would love a response and a solution obviously.

The characters that I see “/*]]>*//*” and so on.

You are probably using W3 Total Cache or a something similar?

If it’s W3 Total Cache then go to Minify -> Advanced -> Never minify the following pages, and fill in the page you don’t want to have minified. So if your store locator is used on mydomain.com/store-locator, then fill in ‘store-locator’.

If you are using another plugin, then look for an option to exclude the store locator page.

Wow you are crazy fast! It worked! I thought it might have something to do with that, but somehow I did not got the idea to exclude these pages from minifying. I was stuck thinking it might have been a .js issue.

Anyways.. I am thoroughly happy now!

    Thanks for the great support!
