I recently updated a page on my site but 3 different browsers are still showing a cached version of that page. I tried a full refresh (F5) and even CCleaner but Firefox and IE are still not showing the updates. Chrome did show the updated version for a while but when I opened the page again just now it had gone back to the cached version. I don’t have any caching plugins installed.

did you clear your browser’s cache as well, F5 just refreshes the page but the browser still loads the cached version

Yes, I did that within the browser settings as well as using CCleaner.

try closing the browser program altogether and reopening it, sometimes they can get stuck…

Tried that. It’s been 2 days already. I opened the page on another computer and it’s the same there too. I even deleted images from the server using FTP and they’re still showing up on the page.

Maybe it’s not a browser cache issue after all (and it’s hard to see how it could be after everything I’ve done). I uploaded my site to this website and none of the browser shots were showing the updated version of the page.

I was going through the files and folders on WordPress installation just now and in wp-content found a “cache” folder. So, after deleting that everything was back to normal.
I must have installed the WP Super Cache plugin at some stage although I don’t remember doing that and the folder was left behind after uninstalling the plugin.

glad to see it’s sorted, thanks for leaving a quick note on how you did it so hopefully that can help anyone else who stumbles on to this thread.
