    Hello,

I’ve discovered an issue when duplicating a page and changing the language. While everything appears fine in the backend overview with the presence of a pencil icon for all languages, there’s an anomaly during website navigation.

Upon duplicating and translating the page, I can seamlessly switch between languages using the language navigation on other translated pages (Dutch and English). The content is accessible. However, when I return to the newly duplicated French page, it seems untraceable. It’s as if the links are not being recognized.

    To elaborate:

    1. I can navigate from the duplicated translated page to all other languages (Dutch + English) successfully.
    2. Despite this, when I return to the newly duplicated French page, it cannot be found.
    3. Manually accessing the French page allows me to navigate perfectly to the Dutch or English version when changing the website language.

This issue appears to be specific to pages that have been duplicated and had their language changed. Is there a way to force these links to reconnect?

P.S.: I’ve ensured that the language switcher doesn’t revert to the homepage, confirming this by observing flawless language switches on pages that haven’t undergone duplication.

I am using the free version of Polylang and duplicate my pages with the plugin: Duplicate this.

You could maybe try with a different duplicate plugin to eliminate that the issue is caused by that? The Admin and Site Enhancements plugin is a little gem that has duplicate functionality built in. I’ve used it for exactly the scenario you describe without any issue.

Also, I’ve had weird behaviour with the languages when duplicating posts and pages that had been trashed before or had their URLs in use in the past for something else (like an image with the same name). So you could check to see if that plays a role in your case.

I would also try resaving permalinks.

And how about other plugins? Do you have any redirect plugins? Have you tried switching everything else off to see if the issue stays?

I hope this gives you some pointers.

    Good luck!

Thank you for recommending the plugin with excellent features. Unfortunately, duplicating still results in the loss of all connections. For now, I’ll handle it manually. Regardless, I appreciate your suggestions and assistance!

    Hi!

I have the same issue as you @vi54. After duplicating my pages and assigning language, I can′t find them in pages :/.

Hope there will be an update soon.

    Thanks!
