  • If it remains when you change themes, check what you’ve entered for the site title in Admin/General/Settings.

If that’s correct and there’s no ‘|’ entered, check header.php within your current theme and post the code block that starts with <title> and ends with </title> here. Just that block, please. Not the whole contents of header.php.

Go into header.php in your theme editor.

In between you title tags you will see this symbol “-“. delete it.

If you use allinoneseopack plugin you can change these from the plugins set-up page.

    sorry I meant this symbol:|

    not –

I can’t figure out any of this! I’m so computer illiterate it’s terrible! After 13 hours yesterday, I got the page picked out and clicked on plug ins and added some. Unfortunately I can’t figure what to do next. I’ve spent a long time reading! HostGator helped me get in a set up a little and the line under my site name on my page needs to be changed. She just told me to type something in and I could change it later. I can’t even figure out how to do that. I hit edit and got to it but nothing works. Now what? Do you have some very basic step by step how to info? All of the computer lingo is confusing me even more!
    Thanks for your help.

I checked header.php and there is no <title> block within there.

Whenever I disable my SEO pack it goes away..

I don’t even know what you’re talking about! My site is: https://www.kidzandtweens.com
What I want to do is change the sentence under that that says a blog site for parents with kids ages 5 to 12. How do I do that?
Whoever is answering this has to talk to me like a 5 year old! I can’t tell you how much I don’t understand even things like header and php, etc.!

It’s definitely the all in one SEO pack doing it.

    Thanks jmilgtp5
You see how confused I am, I wouldn’t hve even known that! Sorry!

Does anyone know if there is customer support help? I wrote to them yesterday and no one got back to me. I hate to wait to see if a member will help me. I really want this to work!

alisonastair there is no customer support for WordPress – it’s a free product. Please make your own thread – you can do this by clicking the back button at the top left hand of your browser and then scrolling to the bottom and using that form.

jmilgtp5: You must have title tags in your header.php file for all in one seo pack to work. So I have no doubt you have it.

Why don’t you copy paste the contents of your header.php and we can help better.

jmilgtp5, on the “All in one SEO” options page there is a little thing called “rewrite titles”. If you have checked that box this is where it comes from. Your original wordpress-generated titles will be brutally overwritten by the SEo-Pack. So either turn this option off or change the titles in Seo-Pack options.
