• I have WordPress installed on my websites. On one of the websites, when I try to go on wp-admin/plugins.php, I receive a 404 error. However, if I delete all of the plugins that I have via cPanel, it the 404 error will stop coming. What do you suggest I do to fix this? This problem also exists if I try going to /update-core.php or /upload.php.

  • Deactivate all plugins, then re-activate them one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

Thanks! This helped so now I can access /wp-admin/plugins.php without a 404 error! But I still have a problem!
If I go to the Media Library I still receive a 404 error. This started recently, ever since I changed the view setting to show 400 pictures. But now, I cannot even get to the Media Library page in order to change that setting.

400 images! Oh – good grief! Can you try setting up another admin user and then logging in using the new admin username?

I can log in with my own admin username, but I access /wp-admin/upload.php. A 404 error shows.
But this isn’t the only problem anymore, I just realized that if I try to go to /wp-admin/options-discussion.php (which is the discussion setting in the “Settings” panel) a 404 error shows!

Can you try setting up another admin user and then logging in using the new admin username?

Regarding the problem with getting to the media library, is there a way that I can change the view setting to a lower number of pictures to view? I think this should help for that. But I have no idea whatsoever why/how the Discussion setting is giving a 404 error.

Okay, I’ll try what you are suggesting and I will

try setting up another admin user and then logging in using the new admin username

okay. So your advice has helped and is letting me view the media library from a different account, but your advice has not helped me get to the Discussions options page.

So your advice has helped and is letting me view the media library from a different account,

One step at a time, please. Delete the old admin account and stick to using this one. Then re-upload all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress 3.3.

    (@keverdy13)

Actually, it will be WordPress 3.3.1 because I just updated WordPress a few minutes ago.
So I will do as you said, and let us see what happens.

Now I have a new problem! I did as you said, and I replaced all my old files with new ones besides for “wp-content” folder. Now, whenever I try to log in, even if it is the correct account log in information, it does not log me in. Rather, the log in page refreshes with this URL:”…/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fteker.co.cc%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1″. Basically, I cannot log in!

I think I will just reform my blog from scratch. It shouldn’t take too long. I have all my recent post exports, and I can still acess my files via my cPanel, so…
    Thanks for your help!
