• Hi, I’m using your plugin, and I’m trying to base the search box by date, but for words that are only in the title. So under “Searching”, I’ve placed the Default Order on “Post date.” The only problem is that it searching for the entered search terms in the entire article, and I only want it to search in the post title.

So I changed the Weights in that section to 0 for Post Content, 5 for Post Title and 0 for Comment text. But it’s still showing all article of that search term written in the post itself. Is there a fix for this?

I’d just like the search box to list articles by date based on the search term that is included in the post title only.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Ah, yes. Sorry about that. Setting weights to 0 is currently not possible, there’s a small bug that will be fixed in the next version. You can set it to 0.00001 or something like that.

However, if you never want to include post content in the searches, instead of setting the weight to 0, it’s much better to just not index any post content. You get the added bonus of making the indexing a lot faster, too.

Here’s how you do that: https://www.relevanssi.com/knowledge-base/relevanssi-index-content/

I am having a similar problem. Our post titles are mostly numeric… (i.e., 15F, 15W, 18B, etc. etc.) I have the post title set extremely high just for testing (had it at 5.. then, bumped it up to 50 just to see if it had an effect). There are two products, 19F and 19W… if I type 19, neither of these display. I have minimum word set to 2 characters. Not understanding why it seems the post title is being ignored.

@brokaw-mkrueger On the “Searching” tab of Relevanssi settings, is “Keyword matching” set to “Partial matching”? It needs to be, otherwise only full words are matched.

I’m running into the same problem with weight for my title. I’ve even pushed my title weight to 2000 and content weight at 500. When I search for a term – posts without the search term in the title appear several spots above a post with that term in the search title. What am I doing wrong?

Start a new thread, I don’t notice replies to threads that are not on the front page of the support thread list. Include a link to your site, so I can take a look, and give me an example of a search that does not work properly.
