Weekly digests not sending

    Using Sunscribe2 8.9.1. Most email sends fine – test, new subscriptions, comments – but not the weekly digest. Dreamhost tested server and it’s fine. I see a thread from a few years ago about a WordPress bug with weekly digests. Is that a problem again or do you think I’ve done something wrong in the set-up. I use Subscribe2 happily on two other blogs but only with notifications of every post.

    So, is the scheduled digest sending date on the Subscribe2->Settings page in the past?

    Try installing WP-Crontrol and look at some other sceheduled events, if these are failing too then you have a wider issue with WordPress cron being blocked and you may need to use the alternate cron.

    Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. The scheduled time is now in the future – tomorrow, in fact – but last week’s didn’t send. When I tried to resend the latest digest, nothing happened. Not sure I have any other scheduled events…BDU here. You’d still recommend WP-Crontrol?

    You will have other scheduled events, things like core, plugin and theme update checks are all cron events so it’s still worth having WP-Crontrol there to check these things.

    One failed sending may just have been a glitch on the server. It might be worth seeing what happens next week.

    OK, many thanks. Will install WP-Crontrol today and see what happens tomorrow…
