• Hi all,

I am seeing something strange when I look in the jobs list.

I have 2 jobs set to run on a Sunday at 04:00 and 04:15.

When I go to see if they have run, they just don’t seem to have run. For example, the job should have run on Sunday 31 January (We are no Monday 1 February and the job still hasn’t run).

It said the job was last run on Sunday 24 January (Which I had to start the job manually) and it says it is next due to run on Sunday 7 February.

Can you advise as to why it seems to be skipping a week and why I have to start the Sunday jobs. The daily job works just fine.

    Cheers

Here is a screenshot of the timings.

It is just not running as it should.

I have to manually force the weekly backups

    Backup Times

Hmm, it looks all grat. On the Backup Times Screnshot will be the Time displayed with cames direct from WordPress cron. So it is correctly sheduled.

Can you provide the information from the Infoemations Tab in BackWPup > Settings too.

I have looked at the jobs again and the job scheduled for 14th February has not run and is on schedule for 21st February.

The daily jobs run just fine

Did they run on same time ?

The weekly jobs are set to run an hour after each other.

The 14th February jobs have still not run.

I am beginning to think this plugin isn’t as great as it seems if it can’t get weekly jobs right!

Sorry, but normely it can handel weekly backups. But it can depend on external thinks.

Wow! Thanks for the ever so (un)helpful response.

Why did I post all that information if you aren’t even going to look at it and try and come up with a solution!

What do you mean “external links”

Did you try checking if your cron is broken?
Heres a tut, please try this and report back

Would there be a situation where the daily cron would run every day but the weekly cron hasn’t run for nearly 3 weeks?

My cron is just fine, my cron jobs work for the daily backups and for other cron jobs I have going.

I feel that you don’t want to look into this issue or take any kind of responsibility

I’ll just delete the plugin and look for something else.

Had you been able to fix this issue I would’ve bought the plugin for this and 3 other blogs I manage.

Oh well, guess you don’t need new subscribers at all!

    Very disappointed!

I really have nothing to do with this plug-in lol, just trying to help. I do understand the frustration though, support is rather slow and ineffective indeed. Troublesome…

Could it have to do with this setting: Disabled WP Cron On

You don’t want WP Cron disabled, do you, as that is what you are using for the backups? I’m sorry that I couldn’t figure out where that is set. Perhaps someone else can help you with that.

    WP Cron isn’t disabled though.

The daily backups work just fine.

For some reason the weekly backups don’t work, yet the next run date will be the following week and the last run date will be the previous week.

I don’t think the creators of the plugin care too much about converting a free user into a paid user.

I would totally do that as the plugin does mostly what I need (It would be all if they could be bothered to fix the weekly backup issue)
