    Hi, on adding the webstories shortcodes into the shortcode widget in elementor the stories do not display, neither do the poster images, only the button ‘default view’ does.
    Same issue when adding to sidebar.
    (due to persisting issues with the webstories widget)

    UPDATE: RESOLVED (elementor did not show the changes in preview mode)

    UPDATE: NOT RESOLVED (without change to the element the stories stopped displaying and only show ‘default view’ button)

    See this video for reference of the issue: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/video/7500851?key=85d42e5f1065e14c4cea993e9bc6577c

    Please advise as to how we can properly display webstories via shortcodes.

    Hi there

    In your Customizer Custom CSS section you appear to have the folowing CSS:

    amp-story-player {
    	display: none!important;
    }

    This is causing the stories to not display. You need to remove this.

    Hi, not sure which Custom CSS you are refering to as I can not find a Custom CSS added anywhere as seen here: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/video/7505680?key=a380b6c294513281c21a37a2b4c347ac

    All that was done was create a segment and added shortcodes.

    This Custom CSS might not be in Elementor, but in the WordPress customizer. You can find it in WordPress admin under Appearance -> Customize:

    From there, click on “Additional CSS”

    You will see a section like this with some CSS in it:

    Hello, yes this was very helpful! The stories do display nicely now.

    One further issue we now face is the customization of the buttons text from ‘default view’ to anything else like ‘click to get to the review.’

    Guessing it needs a custom CSS of sorts, any chance you could provide us with the proper process to alter button texts of added stories via shortcode?

    Thank you.

    Glad to hear the stories are displaying properly now!

    The “Default View” button is not coming from the Web Stories plugin.

    From what I can see, you are using the “Shortcodes For Web Stories & Elementor” plugin, which is not maintained by us. This plugin is adding that button. The readme there explains how to change the button text though.
