websites redirected

  • hello,

    everytime I access my website I get redirected to synctech.ro/wp-admin/install.php

    I accesed it via FTP, everything is there. I was looking for files that were altered today but there somehow hidden in wp_content

    Has anyone encountered this before? And knows how to fix it?

  • If your site is being redirected to /wp-admin/install.php, this could mean your wp-config.php file is missing.

    Can you please confirm if there’s a wp-config.php file (note: not wp-config-sample.php) at the root of your domain?

    So out of curiosity, I clicked the CONTINUE button on the installer, and met the last step of the installation wizard (bypassing where database config details are asked for)… meaning there’s a config file with the correct database info.

    Curiously, the USERNAME field is already pre-filled with the text “User(s) already exists.”

    Looks like there’s more going on here, perhaps database corruption or the website has been hacked?

    It most likely been hacked. but still havent figured out how to clear the database and make the content available.
