    Hi

This question concerns varous versions of WordPress, and one pattern: after upgrading the website to SSL/HTTPS, the auto-upgrades stop to work. They were working fine before the migration to HTTPS.

For instance, site with 4.6.7 without SSL/HTTPS have upgraded automatically to 4.6.8 BUT SSL/HTTPS sites with 4.6.7 have NOT upgraded to 4.6.8.
Also, same pattern has been observed on other versions.

    A few more information:
    – Runs on IIS
    – Files access rights are OK (Was working before the upgrade). They were re-applied in case but no difference.
    – No modification was done to wp-confing for the upgrade (for instance, no statement to define wordpress installation path etc).
    – No failure email was received, no error when loggin to admin panel.

Any idea what could be wrong?

    Thank you

    A few more things:

Communication with www.remarpro.com www.remarpro.com is reachable
    WP_HOME Undefined
    WP_SITEURL Undefined

Note: not sure if the two variables above must be defined when SSL is enabled?

    Also a few more things:

Communication with www.remarpro.com www.remarpro.com is reachable

    WP_HOME Undefined
    WP_SITEURL Undefined

Do we need these two variables set for SSL sites?

    Hi all

Thank you for your help. I have fixed the issue, although I am puzzled as to why SSL affects this.

Basically I was running an old version of PHP on all these sites, so I have upgraded to PHP 7 and it seems to have fixed all problems!

But why non-SSL sites were OK?

    Hi,

Sorry for the delayed followup here, the two defined functions you mentioned aren’t required, they may be used to override your URL in special situations (which is why we show if they are defined during debugging).

As to why your site would work with PHP7 and not before, I’m afraid I don’t know, it’s very likely there’s a configuration option that is different between the two versions which affected it, but which one that might be is unknown to me.
