    Hello,

my website https://www.vanderveldeteksten.nl won’t work in Safari. I found out when it wouldn’t open on my Iphone and then I checked the browser on the laptop. It says the server can’t connect/network connection was lost.
It works fine in Firefox and Chrome. I’m not downloading IE just to check.

I updated everything, I cleared caches and cookies, I disabled plugins that use caching, I contacted my hosting provider… nothing. My provider said it must be something in my CSS.

    What could it possibly be?

  • I would probably attempt to isolate the issue to start with. First switch your theme to the default WordPress theme and see if that resolves your issue. If not, I would then disable all plugins while still using the default theme and see if that works. This will tell you if the problem is in your theme or your plugins.

I wish you a lot of luck with this and if you find the solution, please leave a message here so that others can benefit from your experience.

    Regards,

    Bob

    Thank you Bob.

Updating to the default theme messed too much with my website, so I started with the plugins. Turns out, it WAS my hosting provider – they just gave me an SSL-certificate for free (woohoo), but when I deactivated the plugin for that (‘really simple SSL’)my site works again in Safari. My bad, I thought it had nothing to do with that.

I will contact my hosting provider and update as soon as possible.
