• Hi;

    I’m new to wordpress, but looking into it. I want to create a website that suits the specific needs of the sportsclub where I am a member and the webmaster.

    I need following features:

    member-area, where messages and downloads for members can be offered. Every member has his own log-in, and is able to change it’s own basic info (like password, e-mail, etc)

    member database, where the board of the club can acces information on the members, we would like to be able to keep track of their appeareance on training, warn them if they are absent to often and we would like to be able to delete and add members ourselves.

    crossposting between member section / normal section, some posts are member only some are just for non-members, and some are for both, can these be cross posted to both sections?

    Is this doable with WordPress and plugins? Or is hand-coding required?

  • I am thinking hand-coding will be required. I have been using WordPress for awhile, searching plugin lists and I haven’t run across this functionality yet.

    You may find it by doing Google searches for “best wordpress plugins” or “member non-member wordpress plugins” without the quotes.

    I think you’ll end up trying several plugins before you find what you want. I’ve had to do it myself for other special features. It’s generally quick to do so in WordPress.

    Hope it helps…

    Michael
