Website Versus Blog site

Hi Guys,

I’m sure not sure if this is clear in me head.And correct me if i’m wrong.

My understanding is that with wp one can either build a website(like any other traditional website) or a blog site.If that’s true, when setting out to create a site with wp, how do i make sure that the site i’m creating is a website not a blog site? What makes the difference?

Please help if you can.
