I’m using Shield Security’s feature to rename the wp-login.php file thing, and users have been reporting that trying to reset their password takes them to a 404 page. I’ve tried myself, and it does indeed do that. Is there any way to remedy this?

Edit: A reset link is sent despite this 404, but the link generated is also just a 404 page.

    Thanks

This has been fixed in the latest release (today)- v5.16.0

@paultgoodchild Thanks. This has fixed the lost password link, but the reset password link that’s generated still seems to be 404-ing?

Yep, you are right. We tested that, but there were other factors at play it seems.

We’ve just pushed out 5.16.1 which should address the problem fully.

Awesome, all in working order. Thanks for the quick responses/fixes.

We have come across a similar issue when a customer uses the reset password link in WooCommerce. They enter an email or username on the form but there is no ‘Check to confirm I’m a Human’ select, when submitting an error is thrown up as no box was checked.

This is because woocommerce uses their own code for these functions. We intend to release a Pro version of Shield later in the year that will better accommodate 3rd party plugins like woocommerce.

    Hi Paul,

I have had this issue myself lately with sites using Shield and WooCommerce – people are unable to change their password unless I disable the Shield plugin first. Is the only way around this going to be to upgrade to the Pro version? Is this feature now in the Pro version?

I should think quite a few people will be using both Shield and WooCommerce.

    Thanks

We have no reports of issues with WooCommerce and Shield (Pro). We don’t support WooCommerce integration in the standard Shield. If you do upgrade and you have issues, you can contact us about it and we’ll take a further look.
