I started experiencing slow loading times about a week and a half ago. I launched my website on September 1st, so for four full months, I didn’t have any problems. I have tried so many things, ranging from using a caching plugin, to scanning for viruses in the database/server (clean), to optimizing all my website’s images, to even upgrading my hosting plan. Nothing has made a difference.

I have excellent scores with GTMetrix (90+%) and Pingdom. When I last used Pingdom, I took a closer look at the results, and it showed that “https://paidmftinternships.com/jm-ajax/get_listings/” had a longer load time than most of the other content. I’m starting to wonder if there’s something about this plugin (which is absolutely essential to my website) that is causing issues. Here’s the info from Pingdom:

I have a few theories, but I don’t know if I’m on the right track at this point.

    1. I haven’t actually deleted any of my expired job listings. I’m up to 659 in total. Could that be slowing down my website? Would things speed up if I deleted all the expired listings? (NOTE: expired listings do NOT show up in the search results.)

    2. I have over 200 optimized images, which I use for job listings. Should I stop using images for job listings and see if that makes a difference?

I mean, what’s truly frustrating is that I had NO ISSUES up until recently. Then, overnight, everything came to a grinding halt. I’ve tested the other plugins by turning them off, with the exception of WP Job Manager, and the issue has persisted. ?? I’m feeling so defeated now… please help! Thank you!
