Website Suddenly Not Showing Up in Search Engines

I’ve just found your site in Google by searching for it by URL so it looks like you’re there still.

What I really want is for my site to show up when I search by business name or URL. It used to show up fine on both. Now it doesn’t show up at all by name and in about 75 attempts the last 3 days I haven’t been able to find it one time by searching for either one – oh yelp, facebook, etc etc show up but not my site.
As of 5 minutes ago it appears now suddenly on one of the searches I’ve tried which is chrome – but only now that I have actually asked this question. 5 minutes before that chrome couldn’t find my url at all – not anywhere and still this is the first time I’ve been able to find it all. It still won’t show up on any AVG search powered by google and won’t show up at all on firefox. This makes no sense to me. My site was showing up fine a few weeks ago by searching on name AND URL.
My question is why would this be happening?
How can I prevent this from happening?
Is it a hosting issue?
Why when I search on the name of my business does my site suddenly not show up when it has before?

Hmm, search engines – a law to themselves sometimes. They will change their algorithms regularly and some you win, some you lose.

Bottom line is they can only work on the html that’s presented to them. First of all they need to know about you, and they seem to. (Does Google know about your sitemap file? You can register ti with them.)

Next, think how people are going to search for your services. Will they search for “Rocky Mountain Home Staging”, or “home staging in Boulder”. I would guess the latter, but it depends on your other marketing.

Either way, you’ll build up some key phrases that need to be included in your site consistently in the Title, Description, main headings, page names etc etc.

Get other people in your area to link to you – estate agents? banks? decorators?

Lastly, make sure your social media accounts and your website are talking to each other some way or other.

Then, sadly, wait for the search engines to catch up.

OK that’s standard SEO stuff. I was suprised at the amount of competition there is for home staging in Colorado – hadn’t thought about it before. But it makes the job of getting Google working for you a bit harder but not impossible – bit like home staging! And you’ll find your results going up and down as other people make changes to their sites as well which could well be what’s happened now. Keep your own site moving with new content regularly.
