Website suddenly ‘broken’

  • Hi,

    I am a web-designer for a company and I am responsible for maintening the companies website.

    So a few days ago I visited our website and I was shocked because it looked very different than before. It still looks that way. It looks like the website was made in 1990. I didn’t do any changes what so ever. I can’t do a backup either because there never has been a backup.

    How to fix this?

    -if you have access to your webhosting account, you can export a copy of your database tables and download all files to have a backup copy. Ask if your webhosting vendor has any recent backup copies.

    other things to check on:
    -does your theme need updating or replacing?
    -do any of your plugins need updating?
    -which version of WordPress is currently active?
    -check in your webhosting account for your PHP version.

    Hi Lisa,

    There was an update for a plugin that needed an install.
    After installing the update, the website looked again like it used to!
