    Hi,

    I hope you can help.

I have a few client websites using your plugin to mask the default /wp-login.php page on their websites with a reasonably long and complex string of characters. However, they are still receiving numerous failed login attempts. I was given to understand that as your plugin masks the default login URL, this would stop the failed login attempts.

Since this is not the case, can you advise what should be done to prevent these failed login attempts? Are there perhaps some extra plugin settings to use, or perhaps a different version of your plugin?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Kind regards,

    James

    Hello,

Thanks for using WPS Hide Login.

Is “Evryone can sign up” case checked ? Are you suscriber able to reach login page by comment form for example ?

    Hi @seinomedia

No problem! I have checked the websites and the ‘anyone can register’ box was un-checked. The only thing that was checked was basically allowing website visitors to post comments. I have gone and stopped comments from being allowed now.

Do you think that is why the websites were still seeing failed login attempts? How would that have been working?

    Kind regards,

    James

    Hello,

Maybe. Robots crawl your pages and can find any link. If there’s a public link to your login page, this one is reachable by anyone.
