Website Squashes together when adjusting the window to be smaller

  • Hi there :),

    Can anyone help with this issue as my website on mobile phones looks all squashed to the left.

    Also while doing some tests, if i adjust my firefox window to a smaller size my website starts to squash all together instead of being cut?

    Any ideas.

    A solution was not found to be honest.

    That’s because you either need to use another, non-responsive, theme. Or start some serious work on your 2011 child theme. There is no easy answer.

    Oh ok, I will start editing a new theme.

    Also a while ago when using one child theme for 2011, the dashboard option did allow me to change my theme colour to dark. Is there any reason for this?

    Nothing major. It’s just that 2011 ships with an alternative dark “skin” – which is inherited by any child theme. That said, I seem to recall that there are issues with the dark style & child themes. The CSS is being loaded in the wrong order – making it really difficult to over-write the parent’s dark.css. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.

    Ok, thank you Esmi. I will be taking a web design course next month, hopefully I can learn a few things while im there.

    Having no experience really made things difficult for me when issues occur.
