Website shutdown so need to initialize permalink to get it back

    Hello,

    The issue I have is the following
    On my wordpress website , as soon as I click on the menu link “Downloads” to access plugin “Simple Download Counter”
    My web site shuts down immediately
    To sove the problem then I need to initiate the permalinks but just clicking on Save Permalinks without touching anything else.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Glad to help. It sounds like something is interfering with normal functionality. If you can provide steps to repeat the issue on default WordPress installation, I would be able to investigate and try to resolve asap. Otherwise without steps, I can help you troubleshoot your site to hopefully figure out what is happening.

    thank you for your reply . Here the steps :

    1-In wordpress admin in the left menu enter the “Download plugin ” or access directly using this url : https://pmchampions.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=sdc_download

    2- immeadiately website shut down

    3- Go to menu permalink : Settings/Permalink (https://pmchampions.com/wp-admin/options-permalink.php)

    4- Click blue button located at the page bottom “Save Changes”

    5- Website is up and running again

    Thanks, I followed the steps on my local WP installation and there were no errors or issues, everything working normally. So that means there is something specific to your setup that is having issues. Best advice would be to troubleshoot your theme and plugins. I would be glad to provide a guide if it might be useful for you.

    Also just fyi, when you say this:

    Please understand that only logged-in users are able to visit pages in your site’s Admin Area. So if anyone not logged in were to follow that link, they would not have access and instead be redirected to the login page. Just how WordPress works: you don’t want random people visiting sensitive administration pages, etc.

    Hello Jeff,

    Thank you for you reply and sorry for the delay giving feedback.

    In fact ,I am facing this issue with only this plugin. when I deactivate it , all works fine.

    When I provided url example of admin URLs just to illustrate the case , and make the probleme clearer (I am from a technical background , ex Java-Python developer ?? )

    I can provide you a temporary access to my admin WP panel if you want to have a look.

    It seems soemthing not compatible in my website with this plugin. I finally uninstalled it and could use another one.
