• Hello,
    I changed my SQL user password yesterday and now wordpress has some kind of redirect.
    I checked the wp-config file to make sure the passwords match and they do.
    I don;t know how resetting my password could have caused this. I spoke with my website host and there is no issues server side, it is something with wordpress.

    Now when I try and load my site (or any page on the site), https://www.lightraveling.com it automatically redirects me to https://www.lightraveling.com/wordpress
    When I try to login through /wp-admin I get a screen that says
    “This page isn’t working
    lightraveling.com redirected you too many times.
    ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS”
    So I cant login and deactivate plugins etc.

    I have already tried the “Too many redirects fix” by adding this to the wp-config file:
    define(‘WP_HOME’, ‘https://www.lightraveling.com’);
    define(‘WP_SITEURL’, ‘https://www.lightraveling.com’);

    Still nothing.

    Any ideas why this might be happening? And how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Chelsea

    I have already tried part one of what they suggest in that article.
    I edited the config file and still get the same error.

    I want to try the second part it talks about with deactivating the plugins, deleting the htaccess file but I cant access/login to the Admin area, I get a redirect error. How do I deactivate plugins if I can’t login? Is there a way to deactivate them using the files on the server directly? Or another way?

    One thing I should note is that I did not change any of my plugins before this happened. So I have no idea what plugin could have caused this error if the issue lies in one of the plugins.

    Also when I test my website with: https://www.redirect-checker.org/
    It comes back normal. Why would it come back normal if I am having a redirect error?

    Ok so I figured out how to disable plugins from the directory.
    Now I can login but when I do it doesnt go to the primary directory, it goes to the wordpress of my subdomain, work.lightraveling.com

    I also deleted the htaccess file, in the effort to have a new one created but when I did that no new htaccess file was created. Why would that be? How can I get the url to point to the correct directory and not the subdomain directory?
