• Hi all,
Was wondering if any WordPress whizzes can help me.

    Disclaimer:
I was recently hired on as a communications professional at a local nonprofit, and while my job doesn’t involve complex web administration, they are still experiencing issues with one of their websites. That said, I have a basic understanding of some HTML principles but limited grasp on other coding, so if you could use simple language, that would be appreciated.

    Problem:
When I click on a page to edit it, I can see the content blocks with no issue. However, when I click on the blocks, none of the content is visible aside from a bunch of disorganized coding where the text content should be. At this point, the page freezes and I am unable to edit, close the content block, or do anything except for reload the page. We have been unable to update the site due to this issue happening on most pages.

We are using a lot of different plugins (listed below) but I am a little hesitant to try to troubleshoot since last time I tried, it crashed the entire site.

Thank you so much for any feedback or help!

if you are able to install plugins:

install health check plugin which can be used in troubleshooting mode to deactivate all plugins and theme
might help narrow down the source of the issue

create a backup of the files and database before troubleshooting —using whatever backup tool the site normally uses

Hi Lisa, thank you for the reply. I tried all of that but it’s still doing it. I am currently helping with three websites, and the other two seem to be working fine on a functional level, but this one is acting up and not letting me edit (with the freezing happening.
