• Hello,

I noticed recently that my Website has stopped being indexed by Google.
It was before and i havent changed anything since..

The only thing i could see is that there were a lot of fake comments left of my site recently which i have deleted; could that have had an impact on my site being indexed by google?

Thank you for anyone who can help me with this!

  • Hello,

I visited your website and I could see that you do not have an SSL certificate. This has an impact for Google and its positioning. I recommend you to purchase an SSL certificate, you can opt for a paid option or the free one from Lets Encrypt. Normally, all hosting plans usually include the option to generate a free SSL certificate, you should check with your provider. Once you generate it, you just need to use a plugin like Really Simple SSL to make the whole website use SSL.
Please do not install the plugin if you are not sure that you have an SSL certificate, because it could generate a security error and make the website inaccessible.

To control SPAM comments, I recommend you to include a service like Google reCaptcha. You can use something ‘lighter’ like Honeypot AntiSpam, it’s free and easy to use, just install and activate.

    Hope it helps,
    Have a good day ??

Thank you! I have now purchased a SSL Certificate; so do would i need to wait for Google to trust my site again now?
    Thanks

    Hello,

Great, I see you have applied it correctly ??

You can use tools like Google Search Console to help get your site back to ‘trusted’. Integration with Search Console is usually easy, it doesn’t require much technical knowledge. This is usually a matter of time.

There are companies that assess the negative impact it has had on Google and help you get your score back up faster. The cost of this service is usually not very high.
