My website is loading very slow. Like 10 posts take 8 seconds to load and I think it’s all coming from the database. I’ve deactivated some all plugins and gain a second or 2.

Is there a way I can optimize my database for faster response?

The sites as been up running WP for 2 years now with no clean up or optimization.

    THx

You can usually do this through phpmyadmin….

And you could consider installing one of the caching plugins – see Plugins

Thank you once again GamerZ. Can you tell me how to optimize mysql through mysqladmin?

vkaryl, I’ll checkout those plugins for caching. THanks.

A search found a nice optimization discussion here:

I will tell you, only if you promise never to bump again!

In PHPMyAdmin, select the WordPress database, then at the bottom, there should be a “check all” link, clicking this will place a checkmark beside each table listed above (ie: all the tables in your WP database). Then, there is a drop-down box close by (says “with selected:”, from that, you can select the optimize option and it will go at it.

    Good luck!
